  how could someone go to egypt at that time and not even so much as mention the huge monuments?

  Full support these comments. It was just a "bible story" the Jews were cannanites who worshiped the pagan diety Jahweh according to scholars and history.

  Refused to go to meeting wife broke frying pan on my car....now SHE is inactive 4 years my advice!!!

  Thanks guys...the car was my "pioneer" car old as me 22 it took a good beating as these old cars do...i did buy my sister a new fry pan as the handle broke off!!

  My wife is a stubborn stubborn woman. When we got the internet in 1998 i slowly faded due to trying to prove apostates are lairs and scum...only to find they told nothing but "the truth." Every qoute was checked and re-checked. One Sunday I told my wife who is ex muslim and very firey I did not feel like going to the meeting again. She yells "OKAY THEN!!!!" Takes a fry pan and pounded our car with it. Out of shock I did nothing. 6 years of careful questions, and sly comments led to her now being in-active....and she swears and curses like a sailor!!! (EVERY SECOND WORD IS A F#### BOMB. This shocks me but makes me happy that she now is OUT. I LOVE U MY CRAZY BITCH...KISS HUGS.

  i am wondering if my deceased elder father was awake?

  once we found out he was dying, i spent every moment i could with him, we were very close.

  anyway, i offered to read to him a lot when he was resting.

  Your dad was wise and had the same doubts as we do. Interestingly our most controversy book ever was "Commentary on James" writen by gilead instructor Ed Dunlop. He was forced to edit some of the books comments and was disfellowshiped around the time of Ray Franz (Who wrote Aid to bible understanding)..the book has fallen out of favour with the Watchtower and is hard to find.

  "The Calendar of Jehovah God" - a historical tidbit

  in 1935, clayton woodworth (editor of the golden age - later the awake!

  magazine) devised a 'new' calendar that he proposed was far superior to the pagan calendars that have been used in human history.he wrote a three part series for the golden age (i am not sure if these were actually published) that laid out his justifications for how this new calendar was more accurate and of course, was right in line with the divine plan.

  the calendar was published in the 1935 yearbook, but the watchtower magazine later published a retraction to the calendar.
